Car Shows & Corvette Events
There are now several major car shows the Surfcoast Corvettes club regularly attends, especially during the summer period. All members are encouraged to come along with their Corvettes to the Drysdale, Colac and Torquay Car Shows, being the major local shows during the summer period. We also plan to attend the “Corvettes Rock the Bay” show in SA every other year. At these local shows, Surfcoast Corvettes sets up the club gazebo for a picnic type byo luncheon which everyone can enjoy, while socializing with other members.
Around October each year, the Central Vic Corvettes club holds the “Stingray Run”, regularly attended by our club, along with the Corvettes of Melbourne and Vic Vettes. More recently, we have also been holding an annual event in association with the Corvettes of SA, called “Meet the Vics,” where Corvettes from the two states meet at an interesting destination for a weekend away.
And finally, each year around the Easter break, the Australian Corvette Nationals are held. Surfcoast Corvettes is a recognised, invited club for the Nationals, and all members are encouraged to join our Surfcoast Corvettes contingent attending this country’s premium Corvette event.
On a smaller scale, the club organises a club dinner, eating out at a range of local venues, once each month. All members are invited to join in.
Club Technical Assistance
There is a wealth of expertise within the Surfcoast Corvette club’s group of members. Plentiful advice is available on restoring, repairing, modifying or simply servicing and maintaining your Corvette. Along with this advice you will find specialized Corvette tools and workshop manuals available within the group to help with your project. Members can suggest the right technician for specialized work as well as the best places to buy parts, both in Australia and from the US.
Support is available for anyone wanting to buy a Corvette, including what to look out for whether importing a car or buying one locally. Buying a modified car or getting your own car modified can present problems for registration, so be sure to get advice from the club experts before you go ahead with such modification work.
