The annual Torquay Rotary Motor Show comes around again, as it always does, on the second Sunday in February. For 2025, this turns out to be Sunday, 9th of February. The Show is held on the Torquay Esplanade, basically at the Elephant Walk Park and is the chief fundraising activity for the Torquay Rotary Club. The event tends to draw more than 350 show vehicles. It is always a good show to attend, even as a spectator.
The Torquay Rotary Motor Show is one of our club’s designated events for attendance. Unfortunately, the Torquay Show clashes each year with the very special “Corvettes Rock the Bay” event run by the Corvette Club of South Australia (CCSA). Our club has determined it will attend Torquay every-other year and travel to SA on the alternate years. As we attended the CCSA show in 2024, we will put our efforts behind the Torquay Motor Show in 2025.
Our club has twice won the Trophy for ‘Best Club Display’ at Torquay and we plan to be competitive again this year. As part of our display we will be presenting a Corvette from each generation (ie. C1 to C8). We have display boards to place in front of each car, designating the generation.
We also set up our club gazebo, along with our banners and signs. We encourage everyone attending to please bring a folding chair, plus a plate of food for sharing.
We have some time before the show, so more information will become available as we get closer to the date. We hope as many members as possible will attend with their Corvettes.
